SOLUTION
After studying the geography of the area, including property lines and roads, I focused on using color to bring the map to life and showcase the unique character and diversity of Truckee. Many exciting maps often use natural and muted color palettes, which can lack the vibrancy needed to stand out. In contrast, my map effectively tells a story by subtly highlighting each property line and its associated businesses without overwhelming the viewer with information.
